# Next Steps

KiloCenter next steps — install, onboard a base station, set up integrations, configure security, run operations.

### What does this guide achieve?

Move from understanding the product to a running local installation.

### Choose the deployment path

Continue with this installation sequence when you want to self-host the free, open-source **KiloCenter Community Edition** and connect its MIOTY data to your own applications.

If you need more than the service center—such as visual rules, sustained-condition triggers, dashboards and charts, alarms and escalation, access control, audit history, or managed operations—use **Kilo Cloud** instead. Its built-in Enterprise edition of KiloCenter provides the MIOTY network layer, while the rest of Kilo turns endpoint data into complete operational workflows. See [KiloCenter Community vs Enterprise vs Kilo Cloud](/kilo-mioty-service-center.md#kilocenter-community-vs-enterprise-vs-kilo-cloud).

### Recommended Sequence

1. [Getting Started](/kilo-mioty-service-center/getting-started.md) -- install and configure KiloCenter
2. [Onboarding](/kilo-mioty-service-center/onboarding.md) -- connect a base station and register endpoints
3. [Integrations](/kilo-mioty-service-center/integrations.md) -- set up gRPC and MQTT consumers
4. [Security](/kilo-mioty-service-center/security.md) -- TLS certificates and access control
5. [Operations](/kilo-mioty-service-center/operations.md) -- monitoring and troubleshooting

### Success Criteria

You have completed the initial setup when:

* KC-Core, KC-Gateway, and KC-Web are running
* At least one base station is connected
* At least one endpoint is registered
* One uplink message has been received end-to-end

After that uplink, either connect your own application through [gRPC or MQTT](/kilo-mioty-service-center/integrations.md), or use the [Kilo Cloud MIOTY connector](/connectors/mioty-connector.md) when you want the data in Kilo's rules, dashboards, and alarms.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.kiloiot.io/kilo-mioty-service-center/next-steps.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
