# Profile Settings

Edit your Kilo IoT Server profile — name, avatar, language, theme, password — global across all orgs.

Your profile information identifies you across every organization you belong to on the Kilo IoT Server. Changes made here apply globally — your name and avatar appear in audit logs, team member lists, and notification histories.

## Accessing Profile Settings

Navigate to **Settings > Profile settings** in the sidebar.

## Editing Your Profile

The profile page contains the following fields:

* **First Name** and **Last Name** — editable text inputs. These are the display names other team members see.
* **Avatar / Photo** — drag and drop an image or click to upload. Recommended size is 400 x 400 pixels. Maximum file size is 2 MB. Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG.
* **Email Address** — displayed for reference but cannot be changed directly on this page. Email changes are handled through the identity provider.

Click **Save changes** when you are done. The button remains disabled until you modify at least one field.

## Managing Your Avatar

Once an avatar is uploaded, a **Delete avatar** option appears. Clicking it prompts a confirmation: "Are you sure you want to delete your avatar?" Confirming removes the image and reverts to the default placeholder.

## Changing Your Password

Click **Change password** to be redirected to the identity provider's password management page. The password change flow is handled externally and does not occur within the Kilo IoT Server interface.

## Deleting Your Account

At the bottom of the profile page, click **Delete my account**. A confirmation dialog asks: "Are you sure you want to delete your account?" Click **Yes, delete profile** to submit the request. This sends a deletion request to the support team — you will see a confirmation: "Your request has been submitted." Account deletion is handled by the team and is not immediate.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.kiloiot.io/settings/profile-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
